Supporting your local Farmer’s Markets is a great way to connect with your community. From local produce to craft vendors, Farmer’s Markets have a little bit of everything. Plus, they are a great way to get outdoors and spend some time with friends and family. There are many Farmer’s Markets in the Orange County area, making it hard to decide just where to go. Luckily for you, we have create this list of our 4 favorite spots.
Irvine Farmer’s Market
One of our absolute favorites, we had to put the Irvine Farmer’s Market at the top of the list! We love it for it’s amazing selection of organic produce, specialty treats and local craft vendors. Our favorite place to grab some local produce is the Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store. Their fruits and veggies are always perfectly ripe and fresh. The market also features donuts, hummus, juices, soap, cheese and so much more! You really have to see it to believe the selection they have. The market is held every Saturday from 8am-12pm at Mariners church on the corner of Bonita Canyon and Turtle Ridge Road. We love this new location too because there’s plenty of parking and shade. Grab the kids and pay a visit to Irvine Farmer’s Market this Saturday.
Costa Mesa Farmer’s Market
The Costa Mesa Farmer’s Market is a little on the smaller side, but we love how friendly everyone is when we stop by, that it doesn’t matter much. Their fresh fruits and vegetables can’t be beat, but what’s truly special about this market is the fresh fish from Dry Dock Fish Co. They have a fantastic selection and package it for you to take it home easily. They also have amazing tamales, organic hummus and greek dips and speciality nuts and nut butters. An absolute must-try is Tarts and Things. Their desserts are delicious! You can check out the Costa Mesa Farmer’s Market on Thursdays from 9am-1pm at the Orange County Fairgrounds located at 88 Fair Drive.
Huntington Beach Surf City Nights
Surf City Nights is a street fair and Farmer’s Market, the perfect place for a fun, relaxing night with the family. They feature live entertainment, craft booths, a food court, kid’s activities and a Farmer’s Market. Booths you can expect to see include many local farms, candles, essential oils, clothes, art and much more. You definitely don’t want to miss the $1 tacos. Sometimes they even have a petting zoo for the kids! One tip we would give is to arrive early, parking can be difficult to find. Enjoy this street fair on Tuesdays from 5pm-9pm at Main and Olive in Huntington Beach.
Laguna Niguel Farmer’s Market
Find the best local produce at Laguna Niguel’s Farmer’s Market. From grass-fed beef to organic veggies, this market has a little bit of everything. They even have an Asian booth that sells fresh Asian veggies. We love the delicious tamales, hilarious peanut guy and local honey. For a nice stroll on Sunday morning to get some fresh, local fruit, you can’t beat Laguna Niguel’s Farmer’s Market. Check them out every Sunday from 9am-1pm at the Plaza De La Paz Shopping Center on the corner of La Paz and Pacific Park.
Every market listed here is open year round, rain or shine. You can always count on delicious local produce and fun craft vendors.
